Why are Democrats joining SFVYD?

 

To be part of a movement...

SFVYD is the premiere Young Democratic organization and one of the most active political clubs in the San Fernando Valley. We interview and endorse candidates for our slate mailer, support our members and other young dems in running for office or getting involved in campaigns, and work closely with the Democratic Party of the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles County Democratic Party, and the Democratic State Central Committee.

We also pave the way to a bluer country by helping young dem clubs in red areas get up and running, and partnering with organizations like Planned Parenthood to send our members to swing states for GOTV during presidential elections.

Between quarterly membership meetings, the Facebook community page, and our email newsletter, you'll always know what's going on. We'll help you learn about ballot measures and candidates in elections from municipal to national. We'll invite you to political events in the valley and surrounding areas, and our guest speakers at events will share commentary and analysis on current events.

 

For the events and networking...

We offer many opportunities for members to meet high profile leaders in the public sector like City Council Members, State Representatives, Congressmembers, and leaders in the nonprofit space, as well as fellow young Democrats. We regularly host events like member networking nights, endorsement meetings, holiday parties, and of course our annual Robert F Kennedy Awards. We'll also keep you up to date on political job openings and chances to volunteer on campaigns.
