Our March general membership meeting will be focused on two very important special elections that will determine our representatives in the State Assembly for two seats covering the West and East sides of the San Fernando Valley.

Our members will remember that our club took a strong stance in calling for the resignation of the previous occupants of these Assembly seats after misconduct allegations became public. The winners of these special elections will likely be representing the San Fernando Valley for a long time, so we strongly encourage our membership to come out in force for this upcoming vote!

This is your chance to engage directly with the candidates and make your voice be heard!

After careful consideration, the SFVYD Executive Board has taken a position of "No Consensus" in both races, rather than recommending any particular candidate. Therefore, for both races, the candidate that reaches a 60% majority vote of attending and eligible SFVYD members will receive our official endorsement going into the April 3rd special elections.

All Democratic candidates were invited to participate in our endorsement interviews. The candidates interviewed by the board for Assembly District 39 were Luz Rivas and Antonio Sanchez. The candidates interviewed by the board for Assembly District 45 were Jesse Gabriel, Daniel Brin, Jeff Bornstein, Tricia Robbins Kasson, Raymond Bishop, and Ankur Patel.

Please review our bylaws regarding the endorsement process and voting eligibility.
